Roadside Assistance and Maintenance Vehicle
1978 Conception,
design and construction of a roadside repair vehicle
for convoy support by the 1st Mdm Workshop. This vehicle was used
extensively on the Brahman Drive series of exercises in Queensland. The
vehicle was equipped with lightweight workshop equipment and designed
to have as low a centre of gravity as possible. It had fluorescent
lighting for night support by the roadside in all weather states. A
small lightweight petrol generator, a small lightweight MIG welder, air
compressor and a full range of tools plus a workshop vice. It also
provided sleeping accommodation for its crew.
